Harvard-Yale
Harvard-Yale boundaries are 800 S. to 1300 S.; 1300 E. to Foothill Blvd. Developed in the 1920's this has become the
most desired neighborhoods in Salt
Lake for its architecture
and central location. Early homes in
Harvard-Yale were bungalows and "Prairie Style" homes on Yale Avenue, which led
to more sophisticated Colonial Revival and English Tudor homes built in the
1920's. Varying
greatly in stature and
size from quaint looking single level bungalows to massive English
Cottage and
Tudor designs, these homes have a consistency of quality that is unique
to Salt Lake City. The streets are tree-lined and peaceful. The
location being close to the University of Utah, downtown and hospital
is just one reason homebuyers are attracted to this area.
Many people walk from Harvard/Yale to the University of Utah's sports events. The neighborhood is also a reasonable walk from the light-rail line, the Steiner Aquatic Center, Bonneville Golf Course and the Hogle Zoo. A popular private school, Rowland Hall-St. Marks, is just across 800 South on Guardsman Way.
