Canyon Rim
The gateway to Parley's Canyon is bounded by the
north and east by I-215, on the south by 3300 S. and on the west by 2000
E. The first homes in the area were
built in the 1850's. The cozy, modest homes in this neighborhood
has a beautiful view of the mountains and cool canyon breezes. It has easy access to freeways, quality
schools, quiet streets and great parks with Tanner Park being the biggest.
Tanner Park includes tennis courts, a playground, pavilions and a
walking trail. On the East side of Tanner's Park, a dirt road drops
into Parley's Hollow. Parley's Hollow is home of the Parley's Historic
Nature Park. This 88 acre park includes ruins of early pioneer
structures including an old aquaduct.
Next
to Tanner park is a gulley locally
called "the ditch" that is a leash free space for dog owners. This
park can now be accessed safely from across I-215 on the new bike path.
It's a clean community where almost everyone takes pride in
their homes and yards. It was originally
started as a farming community in the late 1800's and still has some of the
irrigation ditches established during this period.
